Ludwig & Louisa Sevland

Ludwig O. Sevland was born in Karmay, Norway on October 16, 1880. He emigrated to the United States in 1900, first living at Watertown, South Dakota. In 1907, he filed a homestead claim near Stanley, North Dakota.

Ludwig returned to Norway in 1917, and married Louisa Tanjerd in Stavanger, Norway on April 21, 1917. They returned to the United States and lived on the homestead near Stanley for two years, and in Larimore for five years, before moving onto a farm southeast of Granville in McHenry County, North Dakota. They moved into Granville in 1950.

Ludwig Sevland passed away in 1961, and Mrs. Sevland died in 1963. Their children were Olav, Claus, Harold, and Ostrie (Mrs. Chester Iverson).
